Through our College and Career Access Pathways (CCAP) dual-enrollment partnership with Long Beach City College (LBCC), enrolled 9th-12th graders can take tuition-free courses that earn college credit. At IVA High, you have the option to tackle college-level work alongside your high school courses. We offer 12 units a year taught by a college professor on our campus - which is not only convenient for scheduling, but also means you have access to all of our built-in supports. Enrolled students are supported by a credentialed teacher liaison who partners with the college professor to ensure depth of understanding. Students also meet weekly with LBCC interns and a Career Pathways Coordinator to track academic progress, engage in life skill workshops, and connect to college resources. IVA students gain the skills and confidence for college success now, before stepping foot on campus.
Here’s a win for both students and parents: dual enrollment can cut college costs and speed up your path to a high school diploma AND a college degree. By earning credits now, you’re knocking out classes that would cost full price later. Students can request Individual Dual Enrollment (IDE) to choose their own courses and/or enroll in our pathway partnership courses (CCAP). In either program, IVA High pays for the tuition, fees, and materials. In addition, students who complete 30 units of dual enrollment college credit by graduation are eligible to transfer to a university in California! You’re getting a head start on college without breaking the bank—what’s not to love?
Not sure what you want to study in college? Dual enrollment lets you test the waters–explore trades like automotive and construction, or fields like creative design, business, and child development. We help students design an educational pathway that opens doors to new possibilities, inviting everyone to discover new passions and earn college credit while they’re at it.
