Learning goes way beyond our classrooms at IVA High. Our field trips are top-notch. We've been to so many places: 🎒 Aquarium of the Pacific 🎒 Big Bear ski trips 🎒 Joshua Tree camping 🎒 Physics Day at Disneyland 🎒 Beach clean-ups 🎒 Career fairs 🎒 College campuses 🎒 Getty Museum Our students get out into the world at least 4 times a year on field trips that connect curiosity to real life. 🎬🖤 At the beginning of the spring semester, IVA High took our annual all-school field trip to the Art Theatre to watch Judas and the Black Messiah. The film follows Fred Hampton and the Illinois Black Panther Party, highlighting youth leadership, community organizing, & the real consequences of surveillance and betrayal. Students watched closely, then brought the conversation back to campus with thoughtful questions about history, power, & how storytelling shapes what we understand. A powerful shared experience, & a reminder that learning goes beyond the classroom walls. #ArtTheatre #FilmAsText #CriticalThinking #Courage #OpenMindedness #IVAHigh ------- 🎬🖤 Al inicio del semestre de primavera, IVA High realizó nuestra excursión anual de toda la escuela al Art Theatre para ver Judas and the Black Messiah. La película sigue a Fred Hampton y al Partido Pantera Negra de Illinois, destacando el liderazgo juvenil, la organización comunitaria y las consecuencias reales de la vigilancia, la infiltración y la traición. 🦓 Biology in the Wild 🧬 Our 9th grade Biology students took their learning off campus for a hands-on experience at the zoo! From observing adaptations in action to connecting classroom concepts with real-world ecosystems, students explored science face-to-face with the animal kingdom. Fresh air, wild facts, and curious minds made for an unforgettable day. ---------- 🦓 Biología en el hábitat natural 🧬 ¡Los estudiantes de Biología de 9º grado llevaron su aprendizaje al zoológico! Observaron adaptaciones reales y conectaron lo aprendido en clase con los ecosistemas que vieron en persona. Aire fresco, datos salvajes y mentes curiosas: un día inolvidable.
