At IVA High, our commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive community took a powerful step forward this fall with the launch of STOPit, our new anti-bullying reporting platform. True to our values of courage and community care, student ambassadors piloted the program before helping roll it out school-wide through an innovative mobile app.

STOPit empowers students to anonymously report bullying, cyberbullying, and safety concerns directly to school officials. Whether it’s a concerning event or troubling social media posts, students can submit text, photos, or videos while maintaining their privacy. The app’s two-way messaging feature allows for confidential follow-up conversations between reporters and administrators, ensuring student concerns are thoroughly addressed.

Through our new “Directing Change” initiative, students are channeling their creativity and courage to produce videos addressing critical topics like bullying and suicide prevention. We’re proud to watch our students step up as active changemakers, using their voices to shape our school culture.

The response to this program has been remarkable. Students report that they feel safer, knowing they have an accessible way to speak up when something doesn’t feel right. STOPit also includes crisis support resources, connecting students with immediate help when needed.

STOPit is a reflection of our intellectual virtues in action: the courage to speak up, the care to protect one another, and the tenacity to maintain the vibrant, caring community that makes IVA High special. Every student deserves to learn in an environment free from fear and intimidation.
