From Camps to After-School Clubs: Explore STEAM with Scholars Collective at IVA High

Are you looking for a summer camp for your student? IVA High is excited to announce that our partnership with Scholars Collective is expanding! Thanks to Angela Macias and her talent for matching community members to resources, our partnership with Scholars Collective has grown to provide Long Beach K-12 students with even more incredible STEAM enrichment.

Scholars Collective is a small Long Beach organization founded and run by educators. Dedicated to inspiring kids’ curiosity through technology and the arts, their initiative is combining coding, 3D printing, and more with tutoring, afterschool programs and school holiday break camps. Like IVA High, Scholars Collective is student-focused and builds upon interests and personal strengths to captivate curious minds. Scholars Collective is now bringing their programs, and a generous donation of tech equipment, to our campus.

Students sit around a table with papers, pencils, and art supplies spread in front of them.

For years, IVA High students have attended and raved about Scholars Collective camps, which are open to all students during spring, summer and winter breaks, and offer a full day of inspiration at just $45 per day.

This year, Scholar’s Collective camps will be offered on IVA High’s campus. This partnership now provides campers with an outdoor space for fresh air and exercise, more space to split into smaller groups by age, and all the same access to technology with computers and 3D printers on site.

Students explore STEAM projects like building apps, designing 3D models and exploring robotics, that build real world skills and résumés. Beyond tech, campers join book clubs that spark thoughtful discussions, they make art, enjoy gaming sessions, and meet new friends in a fun, inclusive vibe.

During the school year, IVA High students benefit from this partnership in our PLTW classes or by attending the Scholars Collective after school enrichment program right here on IVA High’s campus to explore art, technology and ESports gaming. Scholars Collective has also hired IVA High students through a paid internship to support the younger students attending camps.

Spots for the summer break Scholars Collective camp (and the 2025-26 school year at IVA High) are still available. Visit www.ivahigh.org or www.aboutscholars.com to register and learn more.
