Senior Year Traditions at IVA High: Camping, Grad Night & More
Join IVA High, stay all four years, and this is the kind of send-off waiting for you. Here is what our Senior Tritons get to do once they reach the finish line together!

Senior Camping Trip
Seniors pack up and spend a night camping in Catalina. They hike the trails above the coast, stop for the ocean views, and head back to camp to prep dinner. Someone runs the grill. Others set the table. Once the food is gone, the card games come out and the talking takes over. It runs through four years of memories and lands on why everyone chose IVA in the first place. The answers repeat: the epic field trips, teachers who knew them by name, and a place to be their authentic selves.

Disneyland Grad Night
The senior class heads to Disneyland after dark for Grad Night. They track down their favorite character for a selfie, split a plate of churros, and squeeze in one more loop through the park before curfew. It’s one of the last nights to make memories together before the next chapter: colleges, careers, and plans that stretch well past their imaginations.

Senior Bonfire
The bonfire moves everything to the shore and sand. Seniors build a fire as the sun drops over Long Beach, burn a few marshmallows on purpose and a few by accident, and stretch out in the sand to chat. No phones out, no clock to watch. Just fun and presence. IVA spends four years building intellectual virtues like attentiveness, the habit of giving your full attention to what is in front of you, and an evening with nothing on the schedule is where that habit pays off.
Senior Brunch
Before graduation, the class gathers one last time for a senior brunch. Plates come back stacked from the buffet, and then the toasts start. Seniors raise a glass to the path they chose at IVA and to the people who got them to the end: the teachers who stayed late, the counselors who mapped out the next step, and the friends and family who showed up for them every day.
The Real Reason Seniors Stay
Somewhere along the way, IVA High students figure out the secret. The trips and the parties bring the fun, and the friendships bring the meaning. You can read what that feels like straight from the people who live it over on our community voices page. You do not just graduate with a class here. You graduate with your people. That is exactly why families choose IVA High and stay all four.
